I eat oatmeal most mornings and I wanted to share how I keep it exciting. I’d like to start by advising everyone to try spending the extra $ on organic oats. Regular oats are sprayed with pesticides and have been found to have high levels of glyphosate which has been linked to an increase risk of cancer. Buying organic oats will limit your exposure to glyphosate.
-Don’t use water! Use milk to add flavor. I personally use almond or banana milk
-Add fruit such as banana, blueberries, strawberries, etc
-Get creative and add more items such as melted peanut butter, chia seeds, granola, honey/maple syrup, bits of cereal, cinnamon, nutmeg, protein powder, vanilla extract, chocolate chips
-Overnight oats are an easy way to switch things up and it takes very little preparation
-Lastly I’d like to share my special oatmeal pancake recipe which is a fun way to eat oats!
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk of choice
2 tbsp peanut butter or 1 tbsp pb powder
Blend and pour into a lightly oiled pan on medium heat.
