chopping sunflower seeds

Hi all,

I love adding a small handful of chopped sunflower seeds to my rice and beans . They’re mad cheap where I live and full of healthy fats that keep me full far longer than just rice and beans alone

I find chopping them with a sharp knife slow going, as I have to rock the knife gently otherwise they fly everywhere. Not a major issue for a single serving, but a real pain when cooking in bulk

Does anyone know any technique tips or gizmos to help speed this up? I’ve tried eating them whole, call me fussy but I just dont like it as much. The only thing I’ve found that works so far is putting oil on them before chopping. Stops them pinging around, but you end up with oily sunflower seeds, which I don’t always want

Anyone have any tips?
